Judge Jeremy Bennett retires with effect from 1 November 2019.

Judge Bennett (70) was admitted as a Solicitor in 1975. He was appointed a part-time Chairman of the Tribunal (Social Entitlement Chamber) in 1993, a Legally Qualified Panel Member of Appeal Tribunals in 1999 and a District Chairman of Appeal Tribunals in 1999 (now known as a Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Social Entitlement Chamber). He was appointed a Regional Chairman of Appeal Tribunals in 2003 (now known as a Regional Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Social Entitlement Chamber (Social Security and Child Support). He was appointed Deputy President of the Gender Recognition Panel in 2005 and then President of the Gender Recognition Panel in 2009.
